Relationship Filters
Our brains are incredible meaning-makers.
The problem is that the meanings we attach to other people's words and actions aren't created in a vacuum. They're shaped by every relationship we've ever had.
If criticism was constant growing up, gentle feedback may feel like rejection.
If love disappeared when people were upset, a delayed text might feel like abandonment.
If your emotions were ignored, silence may feel like proof that you don't matter.
None of this means you're "too sensitive." It means your nervous system learned patterns that once helped you survive.
Healing doesn't erase those patterns overnight. It helps you notice them.
Because once you can recognize the filter, you're no longer trapped by it.
You can begin responding to the person in front of you instead of the pain behind you.
